We invite original contributions from all areas of electrical power engineering.

Symposium topics

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

The full chain from power plants to end users — producing, transmitting and delivering electricity efficiently and reliably.

Insulation systems, high-voltage testing and diagnostics, and the modelling of electromagnetic fields in power equipment.

Relay protection, fault analysis and defence against cyber threats that keep critical grid infrastructure secure.

Operation and dispatch of power systems in a liberalized market, optimizing both technical and economic performance.

Integrating renewable sources, batteries and hydrogen into flexible, intelligent distribution networks.

EV charging, local energy communities and the integration of distributed generation into the grid.

Data-driven models, predictive analytics and digital twins for smarter operation of power systems.

Connected sensors, data platforms and Industry 4.0 automation across the energy value chain.

Research papers for publication must be written in English. English is also the language of all presentations, including the PhD session.
Each paper will be peer-reviewed by the international scientific committee.
At least one author of each accepted paper must register and present the paper at the symposium.
The best symposium papers will be selected and suggested for extended submission in a special issue of Acta Polytechnica Hungarica at no additional cost.

Papers are written in English using the symposium template.
Recommended length: 4–6 pages including figures and references.
Submit the paper as a PDF file; source files will be requested after acceptance.
Figures and tables must be legible and numbered, with references in IEEE style.

2Submit your paper via the EasyChair system before the submission deadline.
3Your paper will be peer-reviewed by the International Scientific Committee and you will be notified by e-mail.
4Submit the final (camera-ready) version and complete your registration.
5Present your paper at the symposium.

The programme will be available in print form for all symposium attendees.
After the final acceptance of the articles, participants will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to present the article.
Keynote lectures: maximum 30 minutes.
Other sessions: maximum 8 minutes + 2 minutes discussion.
Presentation format: pptx or pdf.
Presentations should be brought on USB 15 minutes before the start of the session.
Symposium language is English — presentations, papers and PhD session speeches are in English.

Full paper submission — deadline for uploading your paper before the editorial and peer-review process begins.
Notification — by this date all authors will receive the reviews of their papers.
Final paper submission — deadline for uploading the revised paper incorporating the reviewers' comments.
